Seasonal Drives

Easter Holiday Meals

March/April

We assist Paoli Presbyterian Church by supplying complete meals to family that include a main course and canned or packaged foods for their holiday meals. Families are given the choice of roasting chicken, ham, or turkey as their main course.

USPS Stamp Out Food Drive

The 2nd Saturday in May

Postal carriers in the 19355 zip code collect food from folks on their delivery routes and bring the donations to People’s Pantry. Many volunteers are on hand to check the dates, sort the items, and stock the shelves or store for later use. We typically receive 2,000 pounds of food through this drive!

Backpacks/School Supplies Drive

July-August

In collaboration with People’s Pantry, Great Valley School District’s Volunteer and Partnership Office sends letters to families allowing them to request backpacks and school supplies. In early July, we begin accepting donations. Through the website, social media, and email advertising, we continue to promote the needs throughout the summer to ensure all of the students’ needs are met. All supplies are picked up on the 3rd Saturday of August. Students in grades K, 1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 11th can receive new backpacks, while all students receive a packet of supplies.

Thanksgiving Meals

November

Thanksgiving Meals of turkey and sides are provided to pantry families. Meals are given out the 3rd Wednesday and Saturday of November.  Turkeys and sides are also delivered to 20-25 families in Coatesville. We also request volunteers to deliver to Coatesville.

Christmas Families: Food and Gifts Program

December

Pantry families are offered a turkey, chicken or lasagna and the sides for their holiday meal. Pantry families with children are also given gifts. Great Valley School District provides a list of approximately 100 families in the district that are assisted with gifts for their children.  Gifts are also provided for children in Norristown that attend Iglesia Central Presbiteriana.

We are typically able to assist 20-25 families in Coatesville with their holiday meal, gifts for the children, and a family gift. Many volunteers are needed to adopt a family as well as deliver the items to Coatesville.  Information on how to volunteer will be available early to mid-November on this website.
